  • How are your candles made?
    All our crystal-infused aromatherapy candles are hand poured in small batches using pure natural soy wax, lead-free cotton wicks, 100% organic essential oils and highest quality phthalate-free fragrance oils to ensure the cleanest and most gentle burn. Our candles are free of any harmful additives or dyes, including any petroleum products, phthalates and parabens. Our crystals are hand-selected, cleansed and energised to charge them with healing energy and positive intentions. Our packaging is made from 100% recycled and biodegradable materials, with zero plastic use. Our shipping boxes, tissue paper and labels are all derived from recycled materials. We only source our supplies from socially responsible businesses with ethical manufacturing processes.
  • What are the benefits of moving towards sustainable & health friendly candles?
    Better for the environment, better for our health! (and they smell better too!) We strongly believe that sustainability is something we all should try to adopt in our lifestyle, in whichever way we can. All of us can make minor adjustments in our lifestyles to have less impact on our environment. For one, it might be to cut down driving, for someone else, it might be purchasing candles that are more earth friendly. Every small change makes a difference if it’s multiplied millions of times. It ensures a habitable world for future generations. With today’s consumer market filled with products made by over exploiting mother nature’s resources, we at Tales of Life Candle Co are trying to make a small (but compounding) impact by choosing ingredients and supplies that take a less toll on mother nature so that we can feel good about what we produce and more importantly, you can feel good about what you buy. We also adopt cute little rescued wild squirrels every month in BC and pay for their treatment, care and rehabilitation! So ask yourself, what small change can I make today to help lead a sustainable lifestyle? (Hint: Candles!)
  • Do your products contain paraffin?
    Absolutely Not! Our candles are free of any harmful additives or dyes, including any petroleum products, phthalates and parabens.
  • How long do the candles burn?
    Our 7 ounce candles burn for approximately 50 hours. 50 hours of happiness in one jar.
  • What are the benefits of crystal infused candles?
    We can’t imagine a more perfect combination than crystal energy and aromatherapy. Synergy is the perfect word to describe how crystals and essential oils come together and blend their energies beautifully to help us awaken our senses and rejuvenate our mind, body and soul. They amplify each other’s abilities to instantly create a warm and soothing ambience that will inspire, enhance and improve your sense of mindfulness and well-being. All our crystal-infused candles are thoughtfully crafted and embedded with unique hand-picked crystals on top that sink right in when the candle is lit. This ensures their energies emanate together with the fragrance from the essential oils to give you the powerful combined effect of crystal energy and aromatherapy. The lovely crystals left at the bottom of the jar, once the candle is finished, are for you to keep as a constant source of inspiration and positivity (Just wash them with warm soapy water!)
  • Are your crystals ethically sourced?
    Yes. All of our crystals have been ethically sourced from Brazil, Peru, Mozambique, Africa and Australia, carefully and thoughtfully hand picked by our team.
  • How do I use the leftover crystals?
    Once you have reached the end of your candle, take out your crystals carefully and gently rinse them under warm water to remove any remaining wax. The crystals can be then reused in your everyday routine to stay connected with their energies. Here are some simple ways to use these crystals in your life: - Hold them or place them on your body during meditation or yoga practice - Carry them in your pocket or purse to stay connected throughout the day - Place them on your shelf as a part of your home decor
  • How do I know which crystals are right for me?
    It’s believed by many that you'll be drawn to the crystal your body needs simply by looking at or holding a crystal. It’s highly likely that the crystal you feel most attracted to is the kind of energy you need. If you’re not too familiar with crystals, it’s okay to start by picking one just because you love the color. But we recommend doing a little research on the different stones to understand the energies they hold, along with their specific benefits. Feel free to drop us a message and we can help you!
  • Why do the crystals sink in after lighting the candles?
    All our crystal-infused candles are embedded with unique hand-picked crystals on top, that sink right in when the candle is lit, to ensure that their energies emanate together with the fragrance from the essential oils, to give you the powerful combined effect of crystal energy and aromatherapy. Each candle will burn differently due to the crystals moving around in the melted wax. If you notice the crystal is preventing an even candle burn, you may choose to remove it carefully with a metal spoon when the wax is soft, after you have extinguished the flame.
  • Are your products a substitute for medical advice or treatment?
    No. Please note that all information content on our Tales of Life Candles website should in no way be considered medical advice. Our product information is not intended to cure, prevent, treat or diagnose any disease or medical conditions. You are responsible for your own health and safety. Please consult your medical professional for advice on all health and medical conditions.
  • Is it safe to leave the crystals in the candle or should they be taken out?
    The crystals are extremely heat-resistant and safe inside the lit candles but we suggest that to ensure the most even candle burn, please remove the crystals out carefully during the candle's first light with a metal spoon when the wax is soft, after you have extinguished the flame. In candles with raw crystals, please remove them from the candle during first light as they are more likely to cause an uneven burn due to being larger in size.
  • What is the best way to burn my candle?
    Please refer to our Candle Care page for tips on creating the perfect burn and maximum enjoyment out of your candle.
  • What are the safety instructions for lighting my candle?
    Using candles safely at home is extremely important to avoid any serious safety hazards. Please read the safety instructions on our Candle Care page carefully before lighting your new scented candle at home.
  • Do I really need a candle snuffer and wick trimmer?
    Ideally, you should always use a snuffer to put out the flame. When you blow a flame, it creates and spreads black ash particles that get stuck in the wax. Wicks should always be trimmed using a trimmer to 1/4-inch each time before burning to ensure a clean burn and prevent your candle from smoking and creating soot marks on your container. You can still use a regular scissors or a nail clipper to make cuts but we will say a wick trimmer does look pretty cute on a coffee table, next to a candle and matchbook.
  • What payment types do you accept online?
    We accept all major forms of payment - Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. We now also offer Afterpay - Shop now, pay later interest free!
  • Do you accept international credit cards?
    We accept international credit cards; however, when placing your order, you must use the international billing address that is linked to your credit card.
  • Will I get a confirmation email after my order?
    Yes, you will receive an email confirmation after your order and also a shipping confirmation with a tracking number once your items have been shipped.
  • Can I modify my order once it is placed?
    As we put a lot of thought and effort into packaging each of our candles and try to add a personal touch to each package, it is a bit hard for us to modify orders once they are packaged. So, please let us know as soon as possible at after placing an order for any modifications and we will try our best to accommodate them. Once the orders are shipped, unfortunately no modifications are possible.
  • Do you offer customised candles?
    Unfortunately, we do not do any custom work yet. But we would love to hear your requests and try to incorporate them in our future products.
  • Do I need to set-up an account to place an order?
    You can shop on our website without creating an account. However, register with us and you’ll be able to enjoy the following benefits: - Special offers and discounts - First to know about new product launches - Review your past purchases - Save your addresses and payment methods for faster checkouts!
  • How long will it take for my order to be shipped and delivered?
    We try to prepare and ship orders within 2-3 business days. For domestic shipping, it usually takes 5-9 business days depending on location. You will receive an email confirmation with a tracking number once your candles have been shipped. If you have selected local pick-up, you will receive a notification when your order is ready for pick-up. For US shipping, please allow at least 10 -12 business days for delivery. Please note the actual delivery times may vary depending on your location and time taken for customs processing and clearance. We are not responsible for the duties and custom charges incurred on your package. The total amount of payment does not include any duties and custom charges to clear your customs. It is the buyer's responsibility to understand the fees and charges from your customs.
  • Do you offer faster shipping options?
    Yes, we do offer express and priority shipping options in addition to expedited (only for domestic shipping). Please select appropriate option during checkout. Currently, we only have the expedited option for US shipping.
  • Can I update the shipping address on my order?
    Yes, please let us know as soon as possible at for any changes to the shipping address. Once the order has been shipped, unfortunately it’s not possible for us to make any changes.
  • How much does the shipping cost?
    Our expedited shipping fee is flat $12 for orders below $80 and free over $80 in Canada & USA. We also offer express and priority shipping in Canada at flat rates of $20 and $35 respectively. *Please Note: Prices mentioned here are in CAD.
  • Will my order get to me safely?
    We always make sure to securely pack each product to ensure it is protected from damage.
  • Do you ship internationally?
    We are currently shipping only to Canada and US (duties and taxes not included).
  • What if my candles or products are damaged?
    Our shipping boxes are custom designed to be incredibly tough, but sometimes breakage or damage can occur in transit. If this has happened, please send us an email at with the following: - Photos of the packaging and candle or damaged item - Quantity of broken candles as well as the order number We'll arrange for a refund as soon as possible. Please refer to our Refund policy for more details.

  • What if I don’t like my scent?
    We totally understand that buying candles online can be sometimes tricky, please make sure to read the description of each scent on our product page. We also want to mention that we always use only the best ingredients to give you peace of mind. But still, if you are unhappy with your fragrance (we get it, it happens sometimes), email us at and we'll find a way to make you happy.
